• The Calypso was originally a royal Navy minesweeper built by Ballard Marine Railway Company and launched in 1942 before to be use as a research vessel.
• Bought in 1950 by Thomas Loel Guinnessans leased to Cousteau. Cousteau restructured and transformed the ship into an expedition vessel. He made a lot of dicover.
• In 2016, the Calypso arrived to Turkey in order to be restruturated thanks to the Cousteau Fundation.
