• The most impressive and the most beautiful ship never built for French Marine, the Soleil Royal was a 104 gun ship of line. Launched in 1669 in Brest, she was named in honour of Louis XIV. She was decorated tastefully with wooden carving, and some symbol of the french monarch.
• She was the Tourville’s flagship and participated to many battles as Battle or Beachy Head, battle of barfleur and the famous battle of LA HOUGUE. And on 1692, the Soleil Royal was destroyed by english fireships.
