\n\u2022 The ship would have given rise to the name of the shipyard as well as the town of LORIENT.
\n\u2022 On September 16, 1681, the Oriental Sun began its last journey and took with it a royal cargo made by the King of Siam Phra-Nara\u00ef for King Louis XIV. However, after its stopover at Fort Dauphin, in Madagascar, the Soleil d’Orient sank with the treasures of Siam.<\/p>\n
